20-minute VHS/DVD video:

Community members and registered dietitians demonstrate quick, low-cost meals and snack recipes and explain healthy tips about food preparation. The video is available in English and Spanish and shown on a continuous loop throughout the day.

Poster:

A 22” x 28” poster promotes the idea that food stamps help families to purchase healthy foods. Framed in a stand-alone kiosk or wall display, the poster will encourage clients to pick up the materials (brochures and recipe cards) available in attached acrylic holders.

Informational brochure:

Spanish and English versions of the brochure provide helpful tips on preparing healthy foods, cost saving ideas when purchasing foods and the benefits of using food stamps to stretch food budgets.

Recipe cards:

The eight take-home recipe cards displayed with the brochure feature several of the recipes depicted in the video. The recipes, all of which have been tested among low-income audiences, were selected based on ease of preparation, affordability of ingredients and cultural relevance.

Resource listings:

The guide lists phone numbers of pertinent health, nutrition and physical activity resources by county. Food stamp offices can provide these numbers to individuals who request further health information.
